2009 Melbourne Water Youth Conference - Creating Water Smart Cities – June 4-5, Melbourne, Australia

This event has sold out (again)...

Melbourne Water and Firestarter are pleased to present the 2009 Melbourne Water Youth Conference, a "kids teaching kids" event, to celebrate World Environment Day.

The theme of this year's conference is 'creating water smart cities' exploring issues such as drought, water recycling, supply and conservation, stormwater, water quality, population growth and the planning and design of cities in the future.

Building on the success of our 2007 and 2008 youth conferences, this exciting event will provide your students with the opportunity to present, share and discuss their vision for a water smart city.

By participating in this two-day event students have the opportunity to work with expert mentors, develop interactive, informative and fun workshops for their peers, attend a gala dinner and participate in hands-on environmental activities as part of World Environment Day.

Last year the conference sold out quickly, so we encourage your school to register early to avoid disappointment. Registrations are now open with quotas in place until March 3rd to allow for new schools to attend, a good balance of primary and secondary and schools from across Greater Melbourne and beyond.
