Keep an eye on Channel Ten’s morning program with David and Kim from 9am to 11am.
I do an environmental segment and on Tuesday August 4th it will be all about the Banksia Environmental Awards.
On Wednesday August 12th there will be a great story on the plight of the Lowland Gorilla and what you can do to help.
So get watching and support environmental content on Channel Ten.
Cheers,
Arron

Today I have been in Wellington NZ speaking to 50 heads and deputies of their Independent Schools.
Many of them are very keen to partner with Australian Schools to do more for the natural environment.
It is exciting that we will have several NZ schools here for the 2009 MDBA International River Health Conference in Canberra.
Perhaps your school could think about partnering with an NZ school to tackle environmental education and use video conferencing to link up!!

I encourage all Kids Teaching Kids schools to get on to the ABC Heywire website and tell your environmental story.
You can upload photos, movies and talk to other students about your project, how you feel about the environment and what action you are taking.
This is a great site because often ABC journalists search it for stories to cover - a great way to promote your environmental initiative!!!
Visit http://blogs.abc.net.au/heywire/ and get talking!!

I know many of our great schools involved in Kids Teaching Kids are finding it tough to financially support environmental education at the moment.
This is the time to double your efforts and if you haven’t already done so, you should go to the ‘How to get sponsorship’ download on our website http://www.onelifeoneworldourfuture.com/index.php?pageid=396
You can use this template and process and make it a class room activity for your students. It is a huge reward for your student group if they are able to secure sponsorship for their environmental project and it really adds to the authentic learning outcomes to seek sponsorship support.
Good luck!!

With the debate on climate change at a critical point it is important young people across Australia ask for strong action to reduce our emissions.
You can get involved in the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, send a message to the Australian Conservation Foundation, contact your local politician, get involved in Landcare or ask your teacher to sign up to be part of the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative.
Also watch this space for a huge announcement about Kids Teaching Kids being taken to every school in Australia courtesy of major sponsor Australia Post.
